An opportunity with a well-established sub-tropical fruit farming concern has become available.

Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Farm Manager will be responsible organizing and managing all farming activities for a macadamia (30ha) and avocado farm (90ha) in the Levubu District of Limpopo (Louis Trichardt), but with the possibility of being moved to one of the other company farms in the future.

Key performance areas:

  • Oversee all day to day operations including irrigation, logistics and maintenance.
  • New orchard development and optimal management of existing orchards.
  • Staff management (65 people). Direct the team to be motivated and meet production/quality targets as effectively as possible through ongoing support and training on best practices.
  • Developing and implementing on-going plant protection programs.
  • Planning and implementation of harvesting programs.
  • Compliance with Health & Safety requirements.
  • Assist with annual budgets, and interpret and execute the necessary financial & operational requirements.


  • A suitable tertiary qualification in Agriculture (preferred).
  • A minimum of three years’ sub-tropical tree crop production experience, in a hands-on position controlling irrigation and fertilizer programs.
  • Strong leadership qualities with a pro-active attitude and prior labour management experience.
  • Computer literacy (especially Microsoft Excel & Word).
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently (the farm is fairly remote) and willingness to relocate if required.
  • Valid driver’s license.
Salary Details:

A basic salary is offered, in line with experience / qualifications, along with company contributions to medical aid and pension.
